However, it seems with Android 10, Motorola is trying to improve the pace at which it is making the software updates available to its users. And why not..? Today OEMs that are newer to the market are pushing updates in a routine manner. So, Motorola being an early and popular OEM should step up its software support. Speaking of Android 10, Motorola One Power is receiving a beta update for Android 10.
Normally we have seen under Lenovo acquired Motorola not faring well at software updates. However, before you all start checking your devices, let us tell you that it is a closed beta which carries version number QPT30.52-2. This means not everyone out there is going to receive this Motorola One Power Android 10 upgrade. Besides, beta build often brings along bugs which are not really recommended to run on a daily driver.
Along with the Android 10 beta, Motorola One Power is also receiving the October 2019 security patch. That’s good old Motorola for you. We are almost at the end of the 1st week of November. A plethora of top brands of smartphones have received the November patch. So, Motorola throwing last month’s software this late is kind of unsettling
You can manually look for the availability of the Motorola One Power Android 10 update. Those who may be under the closed beta, may not receive the update right away. OTAs always move in phase. So, go to the Settings App > System. Tap on Check for Updates. If you are a part of the closed beta circle, then you should see notification of the new system update with the fresh version number. Tap on Download.
Use Wi-Fi to perform the update as system updates are of large file size. Also, make sure to have enough battery so that your device doesn’t succumb to low battery while updating to Android 10.
Android 10 will bring improved navigation gestures with new gestures. Also, there is a system-wide dark mode, individual app privacy control. You will also get a smart reply feature in the native Messages App. To weed out spam messages, you can set keywords, so any message in which that keyword will be automatically labeled as spam. Android 10 has really exciting features to offer.
We can soon hope that Motorola will keep up its swift approach for system updates. Soon, we can expect a stable and global rollout of Android 10 for Motorola One Power. Till then keep playing with the beta OS.
